Among the many reasons I love LA are the oft-hidden gems masked behind nondescript facades around town. Enter Chaz Dean Salon, my latest off-the-grid discovery.

As I pull up to Studio City’s Sterling Salon, I have an “I’m so in Los Angeles” moment when I see that the salon offers valet parking to babes about to get beautified —and fittingly so, as it turns out the red carpet treatment also awaits inside this inviting salon and spa.

Long before the massage therapist at The Well Spa greets you with a welcoming “Bongiorno,” it’s clear that you’ve entered a whole new world at Indian Wells’ Miramonte Resort. Designed to evoke an Italian/Mediterranean-esque experience, the calming and tranquil Miramonte feels light years away from the hustle and bustle of LA (rather than a crisp two-hour drive). And I’m determined to enjoy every single minute of my stay, livin’ la dolce vita-style.
